Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Washington state is seeking a Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to keep the clinic running smoothly, prepare patient charts, and support the clinical team.

You will collaborate with clinicians to prioritize tasks, manage patient flow, and deliver compassionate care across the clinic environment. A WA LPN license and CPR/BLS are required, with preferred 1–2 years of LPN experience.

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for practitioner visit; rooms patients, records vital signs and information such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem; chaperones and documents the patient exam, ensuring privacy and comfort.
• Performs, or assists with, patient care, diagnostic tests and procedures per scope; follows triage standing orders and refers complex, urgent or emergent situations to an RN or provider.
• Assists with point of care testing (CLIA-Waived Tests) following established protocols.
• Administers patient medications per provider order; tracks and logs medication usage per policies; inventories counts of controlled substances.
• Documents procedures and interactions in patient’s medical record; enters, pends and signs orders as appropriate.
• Organizes exam rooms, cleans and restocks supplies; prepares, cleans and sterilizes instruments and maintains related equipment.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you’ll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team. You’ll take the lead on proactive preparation of patient charts; ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility.

Every day, you'll manage care for multiple patients, adapting to physician availability on-site, and actively collaborate with your clinical team to prioritize tasks and ensure seamless patient flow throughout the clinic.

• Prepares patients for practitioner visit; rooms patients, obtains and records vital signs and other appropriate information, such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem; chaperones and documents the patient exam, ensuring patient privacy and comfort.
• Performs, or assists with, patient care, diagnostic tests and clinical procedures to appropriate level of training/scope of licensure and established procedures; follows triage standing orders/protocols for routine nursing situations and refers complex, urgent or emergent situations to an RN or provider.
• Assists with point of care testing (CLIA-Waived Tests only)/lab tests following established protocols/instructions.
• Administers patient medications per written provider order; tracks and logs medication usage per established policies; inventories counts of controlled substances.
• Documents procedures and interactions in patient’s medical record in accordance with established procedures; enters, pends and signs orders as appropriate.
• Organizes exam rooms, including general cleaning, upkeep and re-stocking of supplies; prepares, cleans and sterilize instruments and maintains related equipment.

Preferred

• One to two years LPN work experience
