Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health seeks a Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support day-to-day operations and seamless patient flow. You will lead proactive chart preparation, ensuring up-to-date information for patients seen in our facility, while collaborating with the clinical team to prioritize tasks.

Daily duties include patient prep, vital signs, information gathering, mobility assistance, and adherence to triage protocols per licensure.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing, upon hire.
• Licensed Practical Nurse: WA, upon hire.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for practitioner visit; rooms patients, records vital signs and other information, and documents the exam.
• Collects patient information via telephone and in-person contact; screens and responds to patient needs.
• Assists with patient mobility and education to ensure smooth clinic flow.
• Manages patient flow to allow adequate time for patient and family education.
• Performs or assists with nursing tasks and procedures per licensure and protocols; refers complex cases to RN or provider.

As our Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team. You'll take the lead on proactive preparation of patient charts; ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility.

Every day, you'll manage care for multiple patients, adapting to physician availability on-site, and actively collaborate with your clinical team to prioritize tasks and ensure seamless patient flow throughout the clinic.

Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.

• Prepares patients for practitioner visit; rooms patients, obtains and records vital signs and other appropriate information, such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem; chaperones and documents the patient exam, ensuring patient privacy and comfort.
• Collects patient information through telephone and in-person contact; screens, communicates and responds to patient needs appropriately.
• Provide patient mobility assistance, as necessary.
• Manages patient flow ensuring enough time for patient and family education.
• Performs, or assists with, patient care, diagnostic tests and clinical procedures to appropriate level of training/scope of licensure and established procedures; follows triage standing orders/protocols for routine nursing situations and refers complex, urgent or emergent situations to an RN or provider.
• Instructs patients in the collection of samples and other tests; ensures that patient or family understands follow-up and referral information.

Job Requirements

Required

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing, upon hire and

• America Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Preferred

• 1-3 years One year of LPN work experience in a clinic setting, upon hire or
• 1-3 years two years of acute care LPN work experience, upon hire

Pay Range

$28.55 - $48.43 /hour
