Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to help keep the clinic running smoothly and efficiently for patients and the clinical team. You will lead proactive preparation of patient charts and ensure information is up-to-date for those seen in our facility.

Each day you will manage care for multiple patients, adapt to physician availability on-site, and collaborate with your clinical team to prioritize tasks and ensure seamless patient flow throughout

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
• Minimum one year of LPN clinic experience or equivalent.
• WA license required upon hire as LPN and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits by obtaining vital signs and updating records.
• Provide direct patient care within LPN scope, including triage, specimen collection, wound or catheter care.
• Administer medications, vaccines, IV therapies, and monitor responses.
• Perform point-of-care testing, EKGs, spirometry and document results.
• Maintain electronic medical records, process refills, and communicate results.
• Keep exam rooms and equipment clean, sterile, stocked and compliant with infection control.

Every day, you'll manage care for multiple patients, adapting to physician availability on-site, and actively collaborate with your clinical team to prioritize tasks and ensure seamless patient flow throughout the clinic.

• Prepare patients for visits by obtaining vital signs, documenting medical histories, updating patient records, coordinating patient flow, and ensuring patient comfort, privacy, and education.
• Provide direct patient care within LPN scope of practice, including triage, diagnostic testing, specimen collection, venipuncture, wound care, catheter care, splint application, and assisting with clinical procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccines, IV therapies, and other prescribed treatments while monitoring medication inventory, controlled substances, and patient responses in accordance with established protocols.
• Perform point-of-care testing, EKGs, spirometry, and other clinical assessments, accurately documenting results and maintaining compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Maintain complete and accurate electronic medical records, process prescription refills, respond to patient calls, communicate lab results, and carry out provider orders using approved protocols.
• Maintain exam rooms, instruments, equipment, and clinical supplies by cleaning, sterilizing, stocking, and preparing procedure areas while supporting providers and ensuring compliance with infection prevention and safety standards.

Job Requirements

Required

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing., and
• One year of LPN work experience in a clinic setting or
• Licensed Practical Nurse: WA, upon hire and
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR

Preferred

• Two years of acute care LPN work experience

Pay Range

$28.55 - $48.43 /hour
