Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking an experienced Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support a busy clinic, ensuring smooth patient flow and up-to-date charts for the care team.

The LPN will prepare patients, perform routine nursing tasks per scope of practice, and collaborate with clinicians to prioritize care. Strong empathy, efficiency, and teamwork are essential in this on-site role.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
• LPN licensure in WA upon hire.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• 1–3 years LPN clinic experience preferred.
• 1–3 years acute care LPN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits by verifying charts and recording vital signs and relevant information.
• Room patients, document exams, and maintain patient privacy and comfort.
• Assist with patient care, diagnostic tests, and procedures within licensure scope.
• Administer medications per provider orders and track usage per policy.
• Maintain exam rooms, restock supplies, and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Document procedures in the patient record and manage orders as appropriate.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you’ll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team. You’ll take the lead on proactive preparation of patient charts; ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility.

Every day, you'll manage care for multiple patients, adapting to physician availability on-site, and actively collaborate with your clinical team to prioritize tasks and ensure seamless patient flow throughout the clinic.

• Prepares patients for practitioner visit; rooms patients, obtains and records vital signs and other appropriate information, such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem; chaperones and documents the patient exam, ensuring patient privacy and comfort.
• Performs, or assists with, patient care, diagnostic tests and clinical procedures to appropriate level of training/scope of license and established procedures; follows triage standing orders/protocols for routine nursing situations and refers complex, urgent or emergent situations to an RN or provider.
• Assists with point of care testing (CLIA-Waived Tests only)/lab tests following established protocols/instructions.
• Administers patient medications per written provider order; tracks and logs medication usage per established policies; inventories counts of controlled substances.
• Documents procedures and interactions in patient’s medical record in accordance with established procedures; enters, pends and signs orders as appropriate.
• Organizes exam rooms, including general cleaning, upkeep and re-stocking of supplies; prepares, cleans and sterilize instruments and maintains related equipment.

Job Requirements

Required

Preferred

• 1-3 years One year of LPN work experience in a clinic setting, upon hire or
• 1-3 years two years of acute care LPN work experience, upon hire
