Job summary

Princeton Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Chicago, IL, seeks an experienced nurse to provide direct resident care and to supervise nursing assistants on a day-to-day basis.

The role requires current RN or LPN licensure in IL/WI, CPR certification, and strong knowledge of geriatric care. You must read, write, and speak English proficiently and be able to make independent decisions while coordinating with families and care teams.

Qualifications

• Must hold current, unencumbered RN or LPN license in IL and/or WI.
• CPR certificate current or obtained within two weeks of employment.
• Knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures.
• Demonstrates interest and/or knowledge in care of the aged.
• Able to read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to deal tactfully with customers, family members, staff, and external parties.
• Leadership and supervisory ability; able to work well with others.
• Personable, enthusiastic, and resourceful.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
• Ensure supervision complies with Federal, State, and local standards and facility policies.
• Plan, implement, and monitor individualized care plans for residents.
• Directly supervise and instruct nursing staff to promote knowledge and adherence to policies.
• Maintain thorough documentation and communicate with physicians and families as needed.
• Attend care plan conferences and participate in ongoing education.
