Job summary

UAB Medicine seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the ACE 2 Unit at UAB Hospital-Highlands to care for post-surgical and geriatric patients. You will follow the nursing process, orient patients/families, and document care while advocating for patients.

The position requires Alabama LPN licensure and BLS, with flexible/PRN shifts and a comprehensive benefits package including education assistance and PTO.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing Program; license required.
• Currently licensed or eligible for Alabama licensure as an LPN.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients per the nursing process and hospital standards.
• Orient patients and families to the surrounding environment and act as advocate.
• Collect data, assess patient status, and escalate to RNs as needed.
• Document care delivery and respond effectively to emergencies.
