Job summary

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD in Houston, TX, seeks a Licensed Therapist (LPHA) to conduct independent assessments and develop treatment plans within inpatient and outpatient teams. This clinical non-direct care role includes utilization management, care coordination, and ensuring services are authorized per regulations.

The position involves travel to homes or field locations, supervision and training at clinical sites, and developing care plans while meeting productivity

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a social, behavior, or human service field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling).
• Minimum 2 years in a mental health setting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor progress toward treatment goals and assess effectiveness of interventions.
• Conduct clinical assessments to determine diagnostic eligibility and treatment needs.
• Provide CBT focusing on reducing symptoms of serious mental illness and daily living activities.
• Administer crisis interventions to reduce symptoms and prevent hospitalization.
• Deliver training on mental illness and medications using TIMA curricula and other trainings.
• Assist consumers in gaining access to care and coordinating services.
