Job summary

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD invites applications for a Licensed Professional of the Healing Arts (LPHA). The LPHA will conduct crisis assessments, provide crisis counseling, and work with treatment teams to develop care plans and coordinate services for individuals in Harris County, Texas.

Documentation and trauma-informed practice are emphasized in daily activities. Preferred candidates hold a Master’s degree and licenses such as LPC, LMFT or LCSW, with 1–2 years post-licensure

Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience: 1-2 years post-licensure preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform community-based crisis assessments to determine level of care.
• Provide crisis counseling and intervention to reduce symptoms and prevent admission.
• Collaborate to create treatment plans with the consumer and goals.
• Conduct case management to access necessary care.
• Monitor progress and educate families on mental health and treatment.
