Job summary

ARK Systems, Inc. in Maryland is seeking a Low Voltage Systems Service Technician to install, service and program fire, security and access systems. You will work with contractors and customers to ensure life-safety systems operate to code.

The role requires 3–5 years of field electronic experience, knowledge of NFPA alarm requirements, strong communication, and a valid driving record. On-site work includes troubleshooting, paperwork, and maintaining inventory.

Qualifications

Knowledge of NFPA alarm system requirements and ability to interpret code books.
Customer relations experience and skills.
Ability to obtain Maryland and Virginia security technician licenses.
Field electronic practical experience required.
Good communication skills are necessary.
Positive attitude and ability to maintain good working relationships.
Must have a valid driving record for driving to/from job sites.
Willingness to achieve industry certifications.

Responsibilities

Install system wiring as applicable.
Complete paperwork in a timely, efficient manner per company requirements.
Troubleshoot as required.
Terminate devices and panel wiring.
Program panels and systems per plans and code requirements.
Maintain truck inventory control.
Communicate with ARK team members to pursue goals of installing and servicing alarm systems to standards.
Explain system operation and status to customers.
Respond to after-hours service calls per on-call rotation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
