Job summary

HDR is seeking a Telecommunications/Security Designer II to design integrated low voltage systems across building projects. You will calculate power loads, UPS requirements, and prepare construction documents, collaborating with PMs and owners to deliver precise, compliant designs.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in LV design, proficiency in MS Office, and a willingness to participate in HDR's employee-owned culture. Primary location varies by project, with multiple U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in low-voltage design.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Active participant in our employee-owned culture.
• RCDD Certification preferred.
• PSP Certification preferred.
• Familiarity with Autodesk platforms.
• Data Centers and Healthcare systems experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain/maintain government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design integrated low voltage systems.
• Calculate electrical power loads, UPS requirements and design system‑related single line diagrams.
• Complete set of construction documents.
• Understand that assignments have objectives that require investigation of many variables.
• Independently perform low voltage technology system/electrical engineering assignments with broad general instruction from Project Manager as to the results expected.
• Write specifications covering all low voltage technology system matters, perform reviews and work directly with owners as a part of project team.
• Assist other Designers, Project Coordinators or technicians as needed, and be responsible for work in all phases of the low voltage technology design process.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
