Job summary

HDR is seeking a Technology Designer II to join our Building Engineering Services team in San Antonio, TX. You will design integrated low voltage systems and develop construction documents for complex facilities.

You will calculate power loads, determine UPS requirements, and produce accurate system diagrams while collaborating with project teams to meet schedule and budget goals. An engineering mindset and commitment to quality are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years experience in low-voltage system design.
• Active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Design integrated low voltage systems.
• Calculate electrical power loads and UPS requirements; design single-line diagrams.
• Prepare complete construction documents.
• Understand assignments have objectives requiring investigation of multiple variables.
• Independently perform low voltage technology design with broad guidance from Project Manager.
• Write specifications for all low voltage systems and coordinate with owners.
• Assist other Designers, Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed; participate in all design phases.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of others as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
