Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Telecommunications/Security Designer II in Brentwood, TN, to design integrated low voltage systems for critical infrastructure projects.

You will calculate power loads, UPS requirements, and develop construction documents in collaboration with project teams. The role requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 5+ years of low-voltage design experience, with familiarity in Autodesk platforms and data center knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 5+ years in low-voltage design.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to obtain/maintain government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design integrated low voltage systems
• Calculate electrical power loads, determine UPS requirements and design of system-related single line diagrams
• Complete set of construction documents
• Understand that assignments have objectives that require investigation of many variables
• Independently perform low voltage technology system/electrical engineering assignments with broad general instruction from Project Manager as to the results expected
• Write specifications covering all low voltage technology system matters, perform reviews and work directly with owners as a part of project team
• Assist other Designers, Project Coordinators or technicians as needed, and be responsible for work in all phases of the low voltage technology design process
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed
• Perform other duties as needed
