Job summary

HDR is seeking a Technology Designer II in San Antonio, TX to design integrated low voltage systems and perform electrical engineering tasks within a project team. You will calculate power loads, determine UPS needs, and prepare single-line diagrams and construction documents.

You’ll write specifications, review materials with owners, and support QA/QC across all project phases while collaborating with Designers and Project Coordinators in a fast-paced, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in low-voltage system design.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Design integrated low voltage systems.
• Calculate electrical power loads, determine UPS requirements and design of system-related single line diagrams.
• Complete set of construction documents.
• Understand that assignments have objectives that require investigation of many variables.
• Independently perform low voltage technology system/electrical engineering assignments with broad general instruction from Project Manager as to the results expected.
• Write specifications covering all low voltage technology system matters, perform reviews and work directly with owners as a part of project team.
• Assist other Designers, Project Coordinators or technicians as needed, and be responsible for work in all phases of the low voltage technology design process.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
