Job summary

HDR is seeking a Technology Designer II to design integrated low voltage systems and perform power load calculations, UPS sizing, and prepare construction documents. You will work closely with project teams to meet design objectives and ensure quality of deliverables across phases.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in low-voltage design, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Preference for Mid-Atlantic residents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience in low-voltage system design
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Active participant in HDR's employee-owned culture

Responsibilities

  • Design integrated low voltage systems for projects
  • Calculate electrical power loads and UPS requirements
  • Create complete construction documents
  • Investigate multiple variables to meet assignment objectives
  • Perform low voltage technology system/electrical design with guidance from Project Manager
  • Write specifications for all low voltage system aspects and coordinate with owners
  • Assist other Designers, Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed
  • Conduct QA/QC on work as required
  • Perform other duties as needed
