Qualifications

  • Must have Low Voltage Industry certifications (BICSI, FOI, FOA, etc.).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • At least one year of experience in installing low voltage cabling is required.
  • Ability to pass drug and background screening.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise junior Low Voltage Technicians on a commercial jobsite.
  • Pull, test, and terminate CAT5e/6a cabling in a commercial environment.
  • Install support structures such as J-hooks, saddles, and cable trays.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and testing equipment.
  • Ensure cables are labeled neatly and organized.
  • Test every newly installed or relocated cable per procedures.
  • Record time and materials used.
  • Assist team with installation and maintenance.
  • Research required information using available resources.
  • Work any shift (days, nights, or weekends).
  • Work in various environments including outdoors and at heights.

Skills

Low Voltage Lead Technician

As a Low Voltage Lead Technician, you will be responsible for supervising junior technicians on commercial jobsites. Candidates will be expected to train junior employees on pulling, testing, and terminating copper and/or fiber optic cabling in a construction environment.

Compensation is based on experience, skill sets, and industry certifications.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise junior Low Voltage Technicians on a commercial jobsite
  • Pull, test, and terminate CAT5e/6a cabling in a commercial environment
  • Install support structure such as J-hooks, saddles, slings, and cable tray
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and testing equipment
  • Ensure cables are labeled in a neat and organized manner
  • Test every newly installed or relocated cable in accordance with established procedures
  • Record time and materials used
  • Assist other members of the team with installation and maintenance
  • Research required information using available resources
  • Be willing to work any shift (days, nights or weekends if needed)
  • Be able to work in various environments including outdoors in varying degrees of weather, working at heights, and in small, confined spaces
Qualification Requirements
  • Low Voltage Industry certifications (BICSI, FOI, FOA, etc.)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One year experience installing low voltage cabling
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass drug and background screen
  • Manufacturer training preferred (CommScope, Panduit, etc.)
  • OSHA preferred
