Job summary

Instrata is seeking a skilled Technician to install, test, and troubleshoot a variety of communication systems at commercial sites in the Richmond area. You will interpret blueprints, lead cable installations, and perform terminations with precision, while mentoring junior installers and planning weekly material needs.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of low-voltage installation experience in commercial construction.
• Knowledge of color codes (4- and 25-pair) and cable termination methods.
• Familiarity with cabling codes, standards, and tools for structured installations.
• Ability to interpret schematics and work independently or under guidance.

Responsibilities

• Install and terminate Coax, UTP, DAS, AV, multiconductor, access control, intrusion, fiber cables and connectors.
• Test copper and fiber with appropriate equipment and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Read drawings and apply drawings, specs and scopes accurately.
• Plan weekly labor and material needs with a proactive mindset.
