Job summary

Instrata is hiring an Installer to support the installation of low-voltage cabling and communication systems across commercial construction projects. You’ll assist in layout, pulling, termination, and testing of structured cabling, including fiber, copper, AV, and access control technologies.

Reading blueprints, labeling cables, and installing equipment racks are part of the role. You’ll learn on the job with mentorship, while prioritizing safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Background in commercial construction or entry-level cabling or low-voltage work preferred.
• Willingness to learn and grow technical knowledge on the job.
• Ability to follow instructions with care and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pulling, dressing, terminating, and labeling coax, UTP, DAS, AV, access control, intrusion, and fiber cabling.
• Help install racks, cabinets, cable supports, and fire-stopping materials per spec and safety code.
• Assist with mounting and basic setup of electronic equipment (switches, cameras, UPS units).
• Provide required hand tools and demonstrate proper usage for tasks.
• Learn to terminate copper connectors and help with testing procedures under supervision.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and installation instructions with guidance.
• Promote and model proper safety procedures, PPE usage, and site cleanliness.
• Share daily updates with Project Leads and follow through on responsibilities.
• Build knowledge of bonding, grounding, and firestopping with a Lead.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment; manage tools and materials efficiently.
• Be open to jobsite changes, short travel, and varied schedules as needed.
