Job summary

Next Level Technician connects job-ready low voltage techs with top employers in Virginia. The Richmond-based role leads daily field operations for a team of technicians, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time completion of structured cabling projects.

You will mentor junior technicians, read and interpret construction drawings, install and test fiber and copper cabling, and coordinate with project managers to meet milestones.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 4–6 years of experience in structured cabling, low-voltage installation, or commercial technology infrastructure.
• Experience leading or mentoring field technicians preferred.
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optics, copper cabling, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting fiber and copper cabling.
• Familiarity with fiber and copper testing equipment (Fluke testers, EXFO, OTDRs).
• Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations for a team of low-voltage technicians.
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide technical guidance.
• Install, terminate, and test structured cabling and low-voltage systems.
• Assist with racks, cabinets, cable trays, and pathways.
• Troubleshoot field issues and escalate as needed.
• Ensure safety, quality, and OSHA compliance.
• Maintain documentation of work, tests, and materials.
• Coordinate with project managers and engineers on priorities.
