ADESA in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a hands-on Lot Operations Assistant to support sale days, vehicle staging, and inventory integrity. You will drive service trucks, tow trucks, and forklifts as needed to maintain vehicle readiness and accurate records.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and proactive communication with shop and admin teams to ensure smooth auction day operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license.
• Able to safely drive a variety of vehicle makes/models including tow trucks, forklifts, and service trucks.
• Automotive or auction experience preferred; computer systems proficiency expected.

Responsibilities

• Lot Operations Support: prepare and stage vehicles for sale, apply stickers, and move vehicles using tow trucks or forklifts.
• Inventory Accuracy: scan the lot and record vehicle movements electronically.
• Vehicle Readiness: assist with vehicle check-in/out, fluids, and tire checks.
• Property Management: remove personal property from vehicles.
• Operational Flow: coordinate with shop and operations for efficient inventory flow to the sale line.
• Customer & Admin Support: provide service support and coordinate with admin teams.
• Vehicle Identification: verify mileage, make year, and VIN for records.
• Safety & Maintenance: keep work areas safe and report hazards.
• General Duties: perform other tasks as assigned.
