Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking a Store Specialist to maintain a safe and secure environment at store entrances and throughout the floor. This visible role deters theft and supports Loss Prevention initiatives while delivering friendly customer service.

You will greet customers, monitor for suspicious activity, and work with Store Leadership to uphold policy and protect Ross treasure. Prior retail supervision and security training are preferred, with high school diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications

• One year retail supervisory experience or similar training preferred.
• One year loss prevention/security training preferred.
• Active Security Guard License preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the Store team.
• Excellent Customer service skills.
• Proven ability to effectively resolve conflict.
• Must be able to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations for security positions, including but not limited to, additional background screening, physical examination, fingerprinting and/or drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for Associates and Customers.
• Provide visible command presence at store entrances/exits and on the floor.
• Address potential safety issues and monitor for safety concerns.
• Greet Customers and provide friendly, courteous service.
• Treat Customers and Associates with respect and professionalism.
• Participate in recognition, training, and cooperation with partners.
• Support Loss Prevention initiatives and uphold company policy.
• Represent the Ross brand with professional appearance and conduct.
• Monitor for theft indicators and assist in minimizing shrink.
