Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of mortgage servicing, loss mitigation, loan processing, or related financial services experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mortgage servicing systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review loss mitigation application packages for completeness and accuracy.
• Validate borrower documentation (pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, hardship letters, Social Security award letters, P&L statements, and other income verification documents).
• Identify missing or conflicting information and communicate documentation requirements to borrowers.
• Upload, index, and maintain documents within the servicing system.
• Send acknowledgment letters, document requests, and application status updates.
• Maintain accurate notes and records of borrower interactions.
• Ensure applications meet investor, insurer, company, and regulatory requirements.
• Work with Loss Mitigation Specialists and management to ensure timely file movement and resolution.

Position Summary

The Loss Mitigation Intake Specialist is responsible for reviewing, validating, and processing borrower assistance applications to ensure all required documentation is complete and compliant before forwarding files for evaluation. This role serves as a key point of contact for borrowers seeking mortgage assistance and helps ensure a smooth and timely application process.

Key Responsibilities

• Review loss mitigation application packages for completeness and accuracy.


• Validate borrower documentation, including pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, hardship letters, Social Security award letters, profit and loss statements, and other income verification documents.


• Identify missing, outdated, or conflicting information and communicate documentation requirements to borrowers.


• Upload, index, and maintain documents within the servicing system.


• Send acknowledgment letters, document requests, and application status updates.


• Maintain accurate notes and records of borrower interactions.


• Ensure applications meet investor, insurer, company, and regulatory requirements.


• Work closely with Loss Mitigation Specialists and management to ensure timely file movement and resolution.
