Job summary

AMERISAFE, Inc. is seeking a Field Safety Professional to conduct on-site Loss Control Surveys for prospective and current policyholders within the Jackson, Madison, and Pearl, Mississippi area.

The role emphasizes safety program assessment, hazard control recommendations, and field training support for customers. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in safety or equivalent experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Adequate computer knowledge and typing skills.
• Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history and reliable transportation.
• Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders up to 40 feet tall; walk/stand for extended periods; lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage a geographic territory; optimize travel and expense efficiency.
• Assess insurability of prospects or policyholders and report findings.
• Evaluate current safety programs and determine suitability for risk; recommend improvements.
• Observe worksites to ensure hazard controls are properly implemented and communicate deficiencies and recommendations.
• Provide safety information to assist with compliance and proactive safety planning; conduct safety training and meetings as needed.
• Schedule work according to priorities and due dates; meet or exceed quality and timeliness goals.
• Travel as needed; field-based role with potential overnight stays; work away from home for extended periods.
