Job summary

AMERISAFE, Inc. seeks a detail-oriented Field Safety Professional to conduct on-site loss control surveys of prospective and current policyholders across a multi-city territory (Memphis, TN; Olive Branch, MS; Germantown, TN; Arlington, TN).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety or verifiable safety experience.
• Excellent knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
• Safety certifications are a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Adequate computer knowledge and typing skills.
• Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders up to 40 feet tall.
• Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently from home and in the field.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Must live in or be willing to relocate to the territory.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage a geographic territory, optimizing efficiency of travel and expenses.
• Assess the insurability of prospects or policyholders and provide a detailed report of their work environment.
• Assess the current safety program in use by the prospect or policyholder and determine risk adequacy.
• Observe work site to verify hazard controls and provide recommendations to reduce injuries.
• Provide safety information to assist compliance and proactive safety planning.
• Conduct safety training and meetings for employees as needed.
• Schedule work according to priority and due dates of survey assignments.
• Meet or exceed department goals for quality, production, and timeliness.
• Travel as required; up to 25% overnight; some periods away from home.
• Complete and return safety surveys electronically.
