Job summary

AMERISAFE seeks a detail-oriented Field Safety Professional to conduct on-site Loss Control Surveys for policyholders and prospects. The role supports underwriting and safety teams and requires strong safety knowledge, travel, and independent field work.

The position involves evaluating work environments, communicating findings, and helping implement hazard controls. Travel is required; a valid license and reliable transportation are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or verifiable safety work experience required.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Physical ability to climb and inspect elevated work sites up to 40 feet.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage a geographic territory, optimizing travel and expenses.
• Assess the insurability of prospects or policyholders and provide a detailed report of their work environment.
• Assess current safety program and suitability for risk based on potential for loss and history.
• Observe sites to ensure hazard controls are properly implemented and communicate deficiencies and recommendations.
• Provide safety information to assist compliance and proactive planning.
• Conduct safety training and meetings for employees as needed.
• Schedule work according to priorities and due dates.
• Meet or exceed department goals for quality, production, and timeliness of reports.
• Travel via personal vehicle; overnight travel may be required.
