Job summary

Warrior Met Coal, Inc. is seeking a Longwall Maintenance Coordinator at our Brookwood, Alabama operation.

This role leads maintenance for longwall systems and a team of underground technicians, driving preventative maintenance, safety, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has 8–10 years of underground coal mining experience with 5+ years in longwall equipment maintenance, strong hydraulics, electrics, PLCs, and CMMS proficiency.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of underground coal mining experience.
• 5+ years in longwall equipment maintenance.
• Demonstrated experience leading maintenance teams in a high-production mining environment.
• Strong knowledge of longwall systems, hydraulics, electrics, PLCs, and condition monitoring technologies.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance (MSHA or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Manage all maintenance activities for longwall systems (shearers, shields, AFCs, BSLs, crushers, electrical/PLC systems).
• Lead a team of underground maintenance personnel (fitters, electricians, technicians).
• Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure safety, health, and environmental compliance across maintenance operations.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, and OEMs for longwall moves, installations, and major repairs.
• Monitor performance and analyze data for root cause and continuous improvement.
• Maintain records of maintenance, inspections, parts usage, and equipment history.
• Manage budgets, inventory, and procurement of spares and consumables.
• Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance staff.
• Lead emergency response and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
