Job summary

Warrior Met Coal Mining is seeking a Longwall Foreman to oversee the longwall section, ensure production targets are met, and uphold the highest safety and regulatory standards. The role requires strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate with engineering and geotechnical teams.

Candidates should have at least 5 years in underground coal mining, 2 years in a supervisory role, and hold or be able to obtain Alabama Foreman Certification. Rotating shifts and safety excellence are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; advanced mining certifications preferred.
• Minimum 5 years underground coal mining experience; 2+ years in longwall supervision.
• Valid Alabama Underground Mine Foreman Certification (or ability to obtain).
• Strong knowledge of longwall mining systems, hydraulics, ventilation, and ground control.
• Proficient in reading mine maps, ventilation plans, and production data.
• Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all personnel and activities on the longwall section.
• Monitor MSHA regulations and safety policies.
• Lead daily pre-shift meetings and hazard assessments.
• Direct operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of longwall equipment.
• Coordinate with engineering and geotechnical teams on mining practices.
• Maintain production and inspection records.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate resolutions.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate miners on the longwall section.
