Job summary

Longo Lexus, part of Penske Motor Group, is seeking a Flat Bed / Tow Truck Driver to deliver and pick up dealership and guest vehicles at our El Monte, CA location. Base pay starts at $20.00 per hour with opportunities for growth and other company perks.

Prior flatbed tow experience is a plus, but not required. The role is 100% onsite with comprehensive benefits, including 401k, vacation accruals, medical plans for full-time staff, and employee parking.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year driving a tow truck desired.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Able to read and understand safety rules and operating/mainte nance instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Picks up and delivers vehicles for Sales and Service.
• Loads and unloads vehicles on flatbed/tow truck.
• Arrives on schedule and communicates changes to guests.
• Maintains dispatcher communication regarding schedules.
• Inspects and maintains tow vehicle equipment and supplies.
• Perform emergency repairs such as tire changes and bulb replacements.
• Follow traffic laws and company safety policies.
• Assist service department as needed.

Overview

The Longo Lexus VIP Delivery Driver, also known as a Flat Bed / Tow Truck Driver, will be responsible for the delivery and pick-up of dealership and guest vehicles. Our ideal candidate is energetic, self-motivated, a team player, has excellent communication skills, has guest service experience, and approaches every task with a positive attitude.

Experience driving a flatbed tow truck is not required, but is a plus!

The Flat Bed Driver has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of $20.00.

*This position is located 100% onsite at Longo Lexus in El Monte, CA.

Responsibilities

• Picks up and delivers vehicles for both Sales and Service departments.


• Loads and unloads vehicles on flatbed/tow truck.


• Arrives to scheduled appointments on a timely manner and maintains communication with guests regarding any changes to scheduled time.


• Maintains constant communication with the dispatcher on schedule and appointments.


• Inspects and maintains flat bed/tow truck vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes in order to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.


• Performs emergency repairs such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs.


• Obeys traffic laws and follows established traffic and transportation procedures.


• Must follow all company safety policies and practices.


• Assists the service department, as needed


• Operated all tools and equipment in a safe manner.


• Maintains high ethical standards in all actions.


• Maintains a high level of grooming, hygiene, and uniform appearance

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.


• A minimum of one (1) year experience with driving a tow truck desired.


• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles; determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it; pay attention to detail; read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language; work well with the public.


• Must have a valid driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
