Job summary

Longo Lexus in El Monte, CA seeks a VIP Delivery Driver (Flat Bed / Tow Truck) to safely pick up and deliver dealership and guest vehicles. The role requires strong guest service, communication, and a proactive attitude, with optional tow-truck experience.

Onsite position with a base hourly wage of $20.00, competitive benefits, and opportunities to grow within the Penske Motor Group family; essential safety and driving skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• One year towing/flatbed experience preferred.
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.
• Strong communication and guest service skills.

Responsibilities

• Picks up and delivers vehicles for Sales and Service departments.
• Loads and unloads vehicles on flatbed/tow truck.
• Maintains communications with guests and dispatcher about schedule.
• Inspects and maintains truck and equipment (gas, oil, tires, brakes).
• Performs basic roadside tasks such as changing tires or bulbs.
• Follows safety policies and traffic laws.
• Assists the service department as needed.

Job description

The Longo Lexus VIP Delivery Driver, also known as a Flat Bed / Tow Truck Driver, will be responsible for the delivery and pick-up of dealership and guest vehicles. Our ideal candidate is energetic, self-motivated, a team player, has excellent communication skills, has guest service experience, and approaches every task with a positive attitude.

Experience driving a flatbed tow truck is not required, but is a plus!

The Flat Bed Driver has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of $20.00.

• Arrives to scheduled appointments on a timely manner and maintains communication with guests regarding any changes to scheduled time.
• Maintains constant communication with the dispatcher on schedule and appointments.
• Inspects and maintains flat bed/tow truck vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes in order to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
• Performs emergency repairs such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs.
• Obeys traffic laws and follows established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Must follow all company safety policies and practices.
• Assists the service department, as needed
• Operated all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Maintains high ethical standards in all actions.
• Maintains a high level of grooming, hygiene, and uniform appearance
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of one (1) year experience with driving a tow truck desired.
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles; determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it; pay attention to detail; read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language; work well with the public.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
