Longo Toyota in El Monte, CA is seeking an energetic Service Valet to create a positive first impression for guests. You will move vehicles, assist in parking and perform basic service department tasks.

This entry-level role provides on-site training, weekly pay and a range of benefits. A valid driver's license and good driving record are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of six (6) months customer service experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions in the English language.

Job description

Our Valets create the first and last impression for our guests. From moving vehicles smoothly, safely, and efficiently, Valets represent the dealership in a professional and friendly manner. A large part of your role will be to enhance the Longo guest experience. Our ideal candidate is energetic, self‑motivated, a team player, has excellent communication skills, and approaches every task with a positive attitude. The Service Valet Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Rate of $18.00.

• Install and remove disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, and ID tags in all the vehicles brought in for service
• Drive vehicles from the service lane to their proper places in the service parking lot
• Maintain the parking lot in a neat and organized manner
• Ensure all vehicles in the service parking lot are secured
• Assist in moving disabled vehicles in or around the service department
• Retrieve customer vehicles from the parking lot
• Help maintain a professional appearance of the service departments
• Inspect each vehicle for lot damage that may have been occurred during the vehicle’s stay in the service department
• Must follow all company safety policies and practices
• Assist in all other areas of the service department, as needed. This includes closing duties – taking out the trash for tech stalls, etc.
• Maintain high ethical standards

• Ability to coordinate activities with other employees; read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language; work well with the public
• Must have a valid driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record

• Frequently bend, stretch, twist, or reach with their body, arms, and/or legs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions including low and high temperatures, precipitation and wind, noisy environments, and small and/or enclosed spaces.
• Adjusting, moving, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Frequently operating motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
