Job summary

The Longitudinal Follow Up Student position within the Health Department at State of Minnesota supports surveillance for newborn screening conditions, including data collection, chart abstraction, and data management tasks. The role is part-time with up to 20 hours per week.

Hours are day shift, Monday through Friday, with up to 50% telework eligibility. The position runs through September 1, 2027, with travel up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Master’s or Doctorate program in epidemiology, maternal and child health, environmental health, or related public health field.
• Must be enrolled in a post-secondary or graduate program with required credit load and progress toward degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist in data collection by requesting and abstracting medical charts.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry, and contribute to data cleaning and management.
• Support data analysis activities and other surveillance tasks as needed.
