Job summary

Denver Public Schools seeks a Long-Term Substitute teacher to deliver grade-level instruction using the district curriculum during an extended absence, ensuring continuity of learning for students in Denver, Colorado.

You will counsel students, supervise behavior, observe and document progress, prepare lessons and assessments, use technology to engage learners, and communicate with parents, teachers, and administrators to support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
• Valid Colorado teaching license (DPS may accept CDE Application Receipt for 90 days).
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

• Counsel students to encourage and support student achievement.
• Monitor, supervise, coordinate, and enforce behavior according to policy.
• Observe, evaluate, report, and record student performance and health.
• Prepare educational outlines, objectives, and materials per curriculum guidelines.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons and projects.
• Present subject matter using diverse teaching methods and technology.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various methods.
• Prepare and grade tests, report grades, and maintain attendance records.
• Communicate with parents/guardians and staff to resolve issues.
