Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a Long-Term Substitute to teach the district-approved curriculum across designated grades while the classroom teacher is absent. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Education and a valid Colorado teaching license, with a commitment to equity and student success.

The position is based in Colorado with on-site duties. The incumbent will deliver instruction, assess student progress, communicate with families, and uphold district policies throughout the January–June

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required.
• Valid Colorado CDE teaching license required.
• Commitment to equity and serving all students with dignity.
• Residence in Colorado; ability to meet physical demands of the role.

Responsibilities

• Counsel students to support achievement.
• Monitor and enforce classroom conduct per policy.
• Observe, evaluate and report student progress and health.
• Prepare outlines, objectives and materials per curriculum guidelines.
• Set clear objectives for lessons, units and projects.
• Present material using varied methods and technology.
• Instruct students individually and in groups.
• Prepare, administer and grade tests; report grades.
• Prepare attendance and activity reports for admins.
• Communicate with parents/guardians and staff to address concerns.

Education
