Qualifications

• Experience working with students in Special Education.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate children to determine eligibility for special education.
• Develop and implement IEPs in a substantially separate classroom setting.
• Collect data and write progress notes for students.
• Plan and implement lessons.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in staff meetings and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the preschool coordinator.

Position: Long-Term Substitute Preschool Special Education Teacher

Assignment Dates: 10/30/2026-04/30/2027 (Dates are subject to change)

Location: CHIPS

Description: DESE licensed teacher for a substantially separate preschool classroom. The preschool classroom is a setting that serves children with identified disabilities.

Qualifications & Responsibilities

• Experience working with Special Education population.
• Certification in Early Childhood Education AND Moderate Disabilities preferred.
• Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) approach and techniques preferred.
• Experience working with preschool aged children with and without disabilities.
• Evaluating children to determine eligibility for special education
• Developing and implementing IEPs in a substantially separate classroom setting
• Data collection and writing of progress notes for students.
• Lesson planning and implementation
• Collaborations with colleagues, including staff meetings and professional development
• Other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the position and as assigned by the preschool coordinator.
