Job summary

Deptford Township Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Substitute - PreK Floater Teacher at Central Early Childhood Center. The assignment starts as soon as possible and is guaranteed for at least 60 days, with potential for extension through the school year.

The position offers a daily rate of $225 with Substitute Certification or $342.85–$367.85 with NJ Teaching Certification, depending on degree status. Reports to the School Principal and requires NJ instructional or substitute credentials.

Qualifications

• Holds or is eligible for a NJ Instructional certificate in the areas or grades to be taught.
• Holds NJ Substitute Certification.
• Highly Qualified in specific areas as required by the New Jersey Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Plans lessons to meet the individual needs, interests and abilities of all students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Guides learning toward district and school goals and objectives.
• Employs instructional methods and assesses achievement in accordance with standards of proficiency.
• Promotes student learning and achievement in accordance with standards of proficiency.
• Assesses student progress regularly, keeps records, and provides progress reports.
• Confers with parents/guardians as necessary.
• Identifies learning needs and seeks district specialists when appropriate.
• Assists in curriculum development and maintains required records.

• Maintains professional development and ethical behavior in working with students and staff.

JOB GOALS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
