Dallastown Area School District is seeking a Long-Term Substitute: Mathematics Teacher for the Dallastown Area Middle School (Grades 7-8). The selected candidate will support student success through engaging instruction and alignment with district goals.

This position runs from January 28, 2027, through June 2, 2027, under a Temporary Professional Contract. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree and valid PA teaching certification for Grades 4-8 (7-8 Mathematics) or Mathematics 7-12, with

Anticipated Time Frame: Thursday, January 28 2026, through June 2, 2027

JOB SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the success and growth of students in academic and functional skills.Specific educational needs of individual students will be addressed, while creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the abilities of students.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of established District curriculum goals and objectives.
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, while modifying instructional methods to fit individual students' needs.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students, including current technology and whole group/small group learning.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with administration, staff members and parents in providing feedback regarding student progress, expectations and goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree required
• Valid PA Teaching Certification required: Grades 4-8 (7-8 Mathematics); Mathematics 7-12
• Related teaching experience preferred
• Completion of all mandated pre-employment documents

SALARY & BENEFITS

• Starting Base Salary: Temporary Professional Contract, as applicable andpro-rated for actual days worked:
  • Bachelor's, Step 1, $ 69,306
• Workday: 7:10 AM - 3:05 PM, which would be 7 hours and 45 minutes, including a 30-minute, duty-free lunch period.
• Paid Leave per School Year, prorated for actual days worked:
  • 3 Personal Days
  • 10 Sick Days
