Job summary

The Dallastown Area School District seeks a Long-Term Substitute: Kindergarten Teacher for Loganville-Springfield Elementary School (Grades K-3). The teacher will emulate our dedication to excellence and create pathways for student success.

Anticipated dates: December 17, 2026 through April 23, 2027. Responsibilities include facilitating learning, assessing progress, collaborating with families and staff, and maintaining a safe, engaging classroom environment from 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• PA Teaching Certification Elementary PK-4 required.

Responsibilities

• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student abilities.
• Guide learning toward district curriculum goals and objectives.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, adjusting instruction to meet individual needs.
• Use diverse teaching strategies including technology for whole and small group learning.

Anticipated Time Frame: Thursday, December 17, 2026, through April 23, 2027

JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the success and growth of students in academic and functional skills. Specific educational needs of individual students will be addressed, while creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the abilities of students.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of established District curriculum goals and objectives.
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, while modifying instructional methods to fit individual students' needs.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students, including current technology and whole group/small group learning.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with administration, staff members and parents in providing feedback regarding student progress, expectations and goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree required
• Valid PA Teaching Certification required: Elementary PK-4
• Related teaching experience preferred
• Completion of all mandated pre-employment documents

SALARY & BENEFITS

• Starting Base Salary: Temporary Professional Contract, as applicable andpro-rated for actual days worked:
  • Bachelor's, Step 1, $ 69,306
• Workday: 8:00 AM - 3:45 PM, which would be 7 hours and 45 minutes, including a 30-minute, duty-free lunch period.
• Paid Leave per School Year, prorated for actual days worked:
  • 3 Personal Days
  • 10 Sick Days
• Other Available Benefits:
