Job summary

Rockland Public Schools seeks a Long Term Substitute Special Education Paraprofessional for the Oct 17–Nov 23 period at Phelps Elementary School in Rockland, MA. The paraprofessional will support students with special needs under a licensed teacher's supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, or two years of post-secondary education or an associate degree; prior experience with children in a school setting is preferred. ABA strategies and RBT certification are assets.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessionals should have a high school diploma or equivalent, two years post-secondary education or an associate’s degree, or completion of Parapro/WorkKeys assessment.
• Prior experience with children in a school setting is preferred.
• RBT certification would be an asset to this program.

Responsibilities

• Assisting students in achieving academic and social successes
• Behavior support including physical management (training provided on hire)
• Personal care
• Consultation and collaboration with Special Education and Regular Education
• Collaboration with teachers and related service staff
• Any other duties assigned by the building administrator
