Job summary

Poudre School District is seeking a Paraprofessional Integrated Services II at Bauder Elementary in Fort Collins, CO. The substitute position supports students with significant needs under general and special education teachers, with daily responsibilities ranging from instructional support to behavior intervention and personal care.

Starting August 13, 2026, for 186 workdays, the position offers PERA retirement and a 6.5-hour day at $20.42/hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related experience.
• Experience working with special needs students preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
• If assigned to a Title I school, at least one of the following criteria is required: completion of at least two years of higher education; an associate’s (or higher) degree; successful completion of the WorkKeys assessment demonstrating instructional competency within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the general classroom or special education teacher by implementing instruction and reinforcing learning skills for students with significant support needs.
• Implement behavior intervention strategies and support students in managing emotional dysregulation.
• Monitor students in classrooms and common areas; enforce safety procedures.
• Provide hands-on support with hygiene, feeding, mobility, and personal care.
• Accommodate students with disabilities using assistive technology and alternative communication methods.
• Maintain records on student behavior, interventions, and progress; assist with IEP documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers, mental health providers, and case managers to implement IEP goals and crisis plans.
• Help students develop self-regulation and daily living skills; encourage self-advocacy.
• Attend specialized training and participate in staff development.
• Support safety protocols and assist in emergency responses.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

One year of related experience

Experience working with special needs students preferred
