Danvers Public Schools is seeking a Long Term School Psychologist Substitute to provide maternity-leave coverage at Holten-Richmond Middle School. The role involves conducting evaluations, assessments, and collaboration with the IEP team.

The candidate should hold a Massachusetts School Psychologist license, have experience with multi-disciplinary evaluations, and support families and staff throughout the process. Position starts around December 14, 2026 and is paid at a daily rate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's, Specialist, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
• Valid Massachusetts DESE license as a School Psychologist.
• Knowledge of federal and Massachusetts special education requirements and eligibility processes.
• Training and experience in the administration and interpretation of psychological assessments.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and collaborative skills.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Master degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations as part of initial evaluations, reevaluations, and other assessments determined necessary by the Team.
• Select, administer, score, and interpret cognitive, social-emotional, behavioral, executive functioning, adaptive, and other appropriate assessments.
• Conduct educational or academic assessments as appropriate based on student needs, professional qualifications, and district practices.
• Utilize multiple sources of data, including observations, interviews, record reviews, rating scales, standardized assessments, intervention data, and other school-based information.
• Complete clear, comprehensive evaluation reports within required federal, state, and district timelines.
• Utilize culturally and linguistically responsive assessment practices.
• Consider students' developmental, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs when selecting assessments and interpreting evaluation results.
• Collaborate with general and special education staff, related service providers, administrators, counselors, and families throughout the evaluation process.
• Consult with staff regarding referral questions, assessment needs, student data, and evaluation planning.
• Review relevant educational, developmental, behavioral, intervention, and progress-monitoring information.
• Collaborate with school-based personnel to understand students' functioning across academic and school environments.
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with families and members of the multidisciplinary Team.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with district procedures and applicable state and federal requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based assessment practices, special education regulations, and professional standards.
• Participate in relevant school and district meetings and professional development.
• Ensure continuity of evaluation and special education processes throughout the maternity leave coverage period.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, consistent with professional qualifications, licensure, district needs, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
