Job summary

Ayden Healthcare of Wauseon is seeking a Cook for our Long Term Care Facility. The role involves preparing, serving and storing meals according to printed menus, standardized recipes, special dietary requirements and state/federal and local regulations.

Under supervision of the Director of Culinary Services, you will handle daily meal preparation, portion control and ensure regulatory compliance, safety, and infection control.

Qualifications

• At least two year of applicable experience is preferred.
• Current knowledge of job-related state and federal regulations.
• Must be capable of regular attendance.
• Must meet all local health regulations, including criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.
• Serv Safe Certification preferred.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of daily meals according to menu plan, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Able to manage portion control, ensuring proper preparation of select foods to meet individual need.
• Demonstrates close attention to detail.
• Demonstrates organizational skills.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of regulatory requirements as related to food preparation, serving, delivery and storage.
• Demonstrates competency with maintaining kitchen safety and infection control principles.
• Able to communicate appropriately with a diverse group of individuals including residents, family members, facility staff and persons from outside the organization.
