Job summary

Pasco County BOCC seeks a Planner II (Long Range) to support wide-ranging planning activities within the Planning and Development Department. The role combines professional planning duties with data collection, analysis, and liaison work across community groups, agencies, and officials.

The successful candidate will develop planning studies, review development proposals for code conformance, and prepare detailed reports for government bodies, occasionally presenting findings in meetings.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in a related discipline OR a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of two (2) years' professional urban and regional planning experience.
• Master's preferred for advanced planning work and project oversight.
• Experience in long-range planning and development review processes.

Responsibilities

• Developing planning studies and reports in support of new and updated plans, programs, and regulations.
• Reviewing or assisting in the review of moderately difficult development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes, plans and regulations.
• Preparing and presenting detailed reports on development proposals to government bodies.
• Collecting a variety of statistical data and prepare reports and maps on topics such as census information, land use, tax base data, and occupancy rates.
• Acting as liaison between community groups, government agencies, developers and elected officials in developing neighborhood plans.
• Coordinating community review of public and private development projects.
