Job summary

Sysco Illinois is seeking a professional driver to safely transport products from the warehouse to customer locations across multiple states. The role involves long-haul trips, including overnight stays, with schedules that may require 2–3 days away from home.

You will ensure accurate paperwork and adherence to DOT guidelines. The position emphasizes safe driving practices, product integrity, and excellent customer service, with eligibility for incentive plan participation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or higher; 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.
• Completion of tractor-trailer driving school accepted.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• Must be insurable to operate a vehicle.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations; Hazmat guidelines; Safe lifting and delivery practices.
• Skills: long-haul driving, communication with customers, problem solving, delivery of product.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports product from the warehouse to customer locations on assigned routes.
• Completes all required paperwork (logs, inspections, maintenance reports) accurately.
• Ensures food safety protocols and proper temperatures in delivery vehicle.
• Adheres to work methods and reports unsafe conditions to management.
• Operates equipment including tractor, trailer, and onboard computer; maintains readiness.
