Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a professional driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, hook/unhook trailers, complete required paperwork, and maintain logs while adhering to DOT regulations and company policies. Some schedules may require overnight stays and handling hazardous materials.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• Must meet MVR standards and DOT regulatory requirements.
• Completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course or 1 year of recent driving experience.
• Long combination vehicles qualifications apply in listed states.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles (and triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections of equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor or trailer.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and DOT requirements.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or equipment problems.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Perform other duties as required.
