Job summary

U.S.VETS in Long Beach is seeking a Development & Communications Manager to lead local fundraising, marketing, and community engagement, sustaining critical services for veterans and their families. You will partner with national leadership and drive site-based donor relationships and partnerships.

This role blends strategy with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, overseeing events, campaigns, and communications to advance the organization's impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, including events, corporate, and individual giving.
• Demonstrated success securing donor investments and sponsorships.
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience with donor databases (Blackbaud preferred) and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead site fundraising initiatives to exceed annual goals of approximately $750,000.
• Build and steward relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and community organizations.
• Plan and execute signature fundraising events and sponsorship campaigns.
• Collaborate with national development leadership on integrated fundraising strategies.
• Represent the organization in the community through presentations, partnerships, and volunteer engagement.
• Track donor engagement and fundraising activity using various donor databases.
