Job description

Overview

The Logistics Associate is responsible for providing timely and accurate distribution of medical supplies and equipment to patient care areas and throughout the Carle organization. This includes activities such as receiving, distributing bulk and unit of measure deliveries, managing 2-bin inventory systems, controlling inventory levels, and engaging in continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves the use of various technologies, including bar code scanning, electronic receiving and delivery systems, and chain of custody tools. The associate demonstrates high levels of commitment and service to support patient care operations. Additionally, the associate assists in courier duties, transporting mail, supplies, bank deposits, pharmaceuticals, and lab specimens to Carle and non-Carle facilities.

Responsibilities

  1. Distribute medical supplies and equipment to nursing units as scheduled.
  2. Maintain fire safety by keeping halls clear of equipment.
  3. Perform order picking for requisitions, both online and manual.
  4. Collaborate with patient care areas to manage supply utilization, ensuring needs are met on demand and as scheduled.
  5. Perform basic maintenance on medical equipment, including sanitizing and rust removal, and assess needs for replacement or additional equipment.
  6. Replenish inventory locations with 100% accuracy, including checking for expired products monthly and removing those expiring within 30 days.
  7. Follow FIFO inventory management to reduce expired products.
  8. Remove non-conforming supplies weekly and document on spreadsheets.
  9. Release orders via handheld devices or Lawson application WH32.2.
  10. Ensure all Carle Eureka Hospital orders, including Pyxis orders, are picked and ready prior to courier pickup.
  11. Pull physician office orders daily for courier delivery.
  12. Manage Pyxis orders within Carle BroMenn Medical Center.
  13. Handle call-down requests for supplies.
  14. Assist in courier duties transporting mail, supplies, deposits, pharmaceuticals, and lab specimens to and from Carle facilities.

Compensation and Benefits
