Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. in Toledo, OH is seeking a Manager Trainee under general supervision to learn managing a small driver count, planning routes, and ensuring safe, on-time freight movement.

You will handle load assignments and interact with drivers and customers while training on internal systems and DOT compliance. You’ll gain hands-on experience in fleet operations, payroll, budgeting, reporting, and safety programs while supporting continuous improvement and building

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field OR 1 year of management/Logistics experience.
• Willing to travel to account and company locations.
• Willing to work nights/weekends and relocate regionally as needed.
• Experience managing a team is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build positive relationships with drivers and carriers to set up new carriers and maximize productivity.
• Fill in for absent staff and support fleet optimization projects.
• Train drivers and staff on internal and customer systems.
• Plan, route, monitor freight and meet customer requirements with DOT-compliant practices.
• Assist with payroll, budgets, driver counseling, and safety reviews.
• Coordinate with maintenance for preventive maintenance and repairs.
