Position Overview:

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supervising the assigned department at the New Castle, DE Customer Service site. This position oversees 15-20 hourly non-exempt employees across the assigned shift. The Warehouse Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to manage the assigned shift efficiently and effectively to meet daily output targets while ensuring all safety and quality performance standards are met. Additionally, this role serves as the first line of engagement for ER concerns from the operational team and is responsible for overseeing the development of personnel entrusted to their leadership.


What you day may look like:

  • Evaluate operational bottlenecks and determine labor needs to maintain optimal performance across assigned shifts.
  • Ensure accurate daily and weekly maintenance of Time and Attendance records, including weekly attendance summaries for all personnel.
  • Deliver weekly, daily, and monthly feedback to employees regarding production and quality progression.
  • Uphold job rules related to the code of conduct and facility guidelines, including progressive discipline.
  • Foster a motivating and productive work environment that enhances employee performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to standardize operational processes across shifts, participate in 5S audits, and provide feedback on audit scores.
  • Offer support to all personnel and manage process flow within the department using daily status reports to identify performance gaps.
  • Conduct formal handoffs to the incoming shift, including notes on WIP, 5S housekeeping, and inventory reconciliation issues.
  • Work with the team to improve operational processes through continuous improvement activities.
  • Address team conflicts before escalating to the chain of command, involving the department manager after resolution.
  • Promptly and fairly enforce work rules as infractions occur.
  • Provide documented feedback to personnel bi-annually.
  • Promote a culture of ownership among the workforce, fostering a positive, energetic, and collaborative environment that respects teamwork and diverse backgrounds.
  • Ensure compliance with health, environmental, and safety standards, work practices, and housekeeping.
  • Manage other duties as assigned by management.

What would make you thrive in this role:

  • High school diploma or similar
  • Proven experience in a managerial role, including overseeing teams and projects or Completion of relevant training courses in management and leadership.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring precision in tasks and documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to create and manage spreadsheets, documents, and email communications effectively.
  • Familiarity with SAP software, specifically Inventory Management (IM) and Warehouse Management (WM) modules.
  • Ability to navigate and utilize SAP for inventory tracking and warehouse operations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Experience in handling and moving parts and materials, typically in boxes, using appropriate equipment.
  • Proven experience safely operating a forklift, with certification.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Adherence to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for work-related purposes.

What would make you standout:

  • Associate or bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • Professional Certification in Supply Chain Management (Warehousing, Logistics, etc.).
  • 5 years’ experience working in a warehouse in a material handling and logistics function.
  • Variety of supply chain management experience.
  • Experience working with cross-functions (e.g. project managers, service technicians).
  • Customer service experience.
  • SAP experience – other SCM related modules (Purchasing, Accounting, Planning, etc.).
  • Experience training employees.

This position is located in New Castle, DE. The base salary range for this position in New Castle, DE is $80,600-$92,000 per year. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
