Job summary

Volvo Trucks North America’s New River Valley Plant in Virginia seeks a seasoned Logistics Supervisor to lead material handling teams, oversee planning, inventory, storage, and shipping while partnering with multiple functions to keep production moving.

You will drive Lean improvements, ensure material availability, and coach staff to uphold safety and efficiency in a large manufacturing environment. Competitive pay and benefits await.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
• 4+ years of logistics experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams in logistics/manufacturing.
• Strong planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Power BI experience is a plus.
• Lean Manufacturing/continuous improvement experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of material handling professionals, setting clear expectations and building a culture of safety, accountability and engagement.
• Oversee material flow, inventory control, storage, shipping and receiving to support efficient production.
• Ensure materials are accurately allocated, identified, organized and available when needed.
• Monitor inventory transactions and resolve discrepancies to maintain accuracy.
• Identify and communicate potential material shortages to prevent disruptions.
• Partner with Production, Quality, Planning, Purchasing, Maintenance and other Logistics teams to resolve issues and keep operations moving.
• Optimize staffing, processes and resources to maximize productivity and meet goals.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives improving safety, quality, delivery and efficiency.
• Maintain high standards for housekeeping, organization, safety and compliance.
