Job summary

AB Volvo is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for the New River Valley Assembly team at our Virginia plant. You will lead production employees, drive safety, quality and on-time delivery, and advance continuous improvement initiatives in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to remove barriers, optimize resources and develop your team through training and mentorship, shaping the future of truck manufacturing within a global leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience leading people in a production or manufacturing environment.
• 4+ years of manufacturing or production experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
• Experience in the commercial vehicle or automotive industry preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading, developing and engaging employees in a complex production environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop production employees, creating a high-performing team built on trust, accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
• Own daily production performance for your assigned area, supporting production schedules, productivity, efficiency and overall business objectives.
• Lead World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and continuous improvement activities to improve safety, quality, productivity and customer satisfaction.
• Partner with Safety, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve production performance.
• Build and maintain effective production teams using MOST time-study principles, including resource allocation and vacation planning.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain a fair work environment.
