Job Description

Oversight of all yard operations including multiple sites and assist in the management of yard staff/drivers. Assist with coordination of in-house trucking, material inventory, tool supply, and truck fleet maintenance. Collaborate with office staff for project needs and “loadout lists” and attend weekly management meetings. Responsible for working with colleagues to maintain an OSHA compliant yard and shop, organization of stock material, tools, and equipment, and leading weekly cleanings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct and assist with the loading and unloading of materials and equipment from trucks.
• Complete yard paperwork, including DOT compliance, and documentation of incoming and outgoing equipment and material in a timely manner.
• Keep and maintain inventory of job materials in the yards and the shop.
• Maintain vehicle and trailer registrations, and insurance.
• Maintain tool and equipment compliance and calibration.
• Count and reconcile incoming and outgoing materials and inspect specified quantity and quality of shipments coming and going from the yard.
• Maintain and assist in the organization and cleanliness of the yards and shop.
• Oversee the accurate completion of daily timecards/ and job costing for the yard staff.

Job Requirements

• 1 to 3 years related logistics, yard, or distribution center experience.
• Possess basic knowledge of strapping or chaining down loads for trucking.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence.
• Must be able to do heavy lifting.
• Must possess basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
• Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment,
• Knowledge of the construction industry is a plus.
